This quilt, made for Seala Fubar’s niece, is inspired by Faith Ringgold and Radka Donnell and continues quilting’s long history of storytelling and activism. Through its anagrammatic message, “We Are All Aliens,” the quilt becomes more than a cozy family heirloom. It is a living record of a principle that Seala’s family will carry with them until the quilt disintegrates.
